Miss A Barrow

Mrs L Sisson
Welcome to Year 4,
Welcome to Year 4’s class page. In Year 4 we aim to spend our days wearing a smile as we believe that happiness is key to successful learning. We always try our best and bring to school our ‘can do’ attitudes which help us when we face challenges which we initially feel are tough. During our lessons we try to have fun and this year we are taking our learning outside to make it more, regardless of the weather.
Our teacher is Miss Barrow but we are also taught by Mrs Waddington and Mrs Bennett who are all lucky enough to spend time with year 4. We are also supported by a wonderful team of supportive members of staff who help our children to become the best they can be and help make learning enjoyable and as valuable as possible.
In Year 4 we are just about to begin a new adventure exploring our new topic ‘The UK” Within this topic we will be focusing on the world around us and cities that surround Edgworth. We will also be including Textiles, History and Computing and lots of exploring of our local area in our learning. If you would like more specific information about this topic please see our topic map linked into this page. Our Topic this term in RE is Prayer where we are looking at what it means to be thankful.
Our Music session with Mr Berry are starting this term and the children are really looking forward to learning to play the Ukulele.
On the 26th September the children will be taking part in their level one bike ability training based on the school grounds. It is a fantastic opportunity to show off their bike riding skills and to also learn plenty from experts. If you have any questions regarding this please see Miss Barrow.
As always, this term is a busy time, watch this space for further news on our learning adventures.
To look at what your child will be learning about in a more detail, please click here see the medium term plan for the autumn.
Please be aware that the medium term plan is not an exhaustive list of objectives and is subject to change depending on the children’s needs and events that may be happening in school.
If you can help out in any way with bringing our topic to life whether is it sharing your own skills, experiences or sending in photographs, please get in touch with Mrs Waddington or Miss Barrow who would love to hear from you.
We hope you enjoy hearing all about your child’s learning this term.
