Thank you to all those parents and grandparents who came into school yesterday to enjoy the Year 2 Showcase Experience. This was a great success and the children certainly enjoyed showing their learning off to all the visitors.
On Wednesday this week we were very pleased to welcome so many people into our Open Day. Once again, the children shone and visitors were extremely impressed with our Year 6 tour guides who are such fantastic ambassadors. They really do know so much about school and are happy to share this information in a really confident and polite manner. Thank you to everyone who came, and to representatives from the PTFA and Governing Body who ran the refreshments stall all day.
This week we took part in two different sporting events. On Tuesday, girls from Year 5 and 6 played in the first round of the Rounders League at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy (DACA). They played extremely well winning all three of their games! The final match against St. James, Lower Darwen was a nail biting affair, with our girls winning by a very narrow half point margin! For once, the sun was shining, which made it an extra enjoyable event. Our team showed great team spirit and sportsmanship throughout, so well done to them all.
As part of our on-going efforts to improve communication we are very pleased to announce that our newly designed website is now up and running. It’s the same address as before, (www.turtonandedgworthprimary.co.uk) but we hope it will be easier to navigate and provide lots of useful information. The updating process will be continuing over the next few weeks, but please do have a look around and let us know what you think.
