Welcome to Year 6!
Year 6 is an incredibly exciting year and although it can be extremely challenging at times, we are lucky to have so much to look forward to throughout the year. Year 6 have been spending time with their reception buddies too this year and love helping them grow and learn so much. We are also enjoying the extra responsibility of lunchtime jobs, sitting on the benches, going on our residential trip to Robinwood and getting our leavers hoodies later in the year.
Also, as we are the oldest children in our school, we work hard to provide excellent role models for the younger children to follow.
Learning in Year 6
Year 6 have been working incredibly hard on the lead up to their SATs tests. Once we have completed the tests, we are going to be lots of wonderful writing and starting the year 5 and 6 production.
Productions are always a wonderful time for our children and are a lovely way to unwind after such a hectic half term in year 6 with singing, acting and creating props.
After half term, year 6 will be walking to the Barlow every Friday where they will be taught how to play bowls. We are very lucky that we have members of our community that give up their time to teach our children this sport.
Over the next term, year 6 will be getting ready to move on to high school. We will be doing lots of work on growing up and how things will change as they move forward to start their new adventure.
Although year 6 can be challenging at times, we always have a positive mind-set towards everything that we do!
