In reception we aim to provide a secure and caring environment in which every child can fulfil his or her academic, creative, physical, and personal potential.
In reception the children continue to enjoy carefully structured play activities within the classroom and outdoors. Children will read, write and use numbers each day to develop independent writing skills. PE is taught for a full morning, once per week.
We aim to change our topic every half term and when doing so, take into consideration the interests of the children.
During the first half of the autumn term, our topic in Reception is called ‘People who can help us.’ We are going to be learning about lots of different things and we are hoping for some visitors to come into school to talk about their job role. Alongside this, we will be exploring our outdoor learning areas.
