Welcome to year 6!
In Year 6, adults you you will find:
Miss Valentine- Class teacher
Mrs Reeve- Teaching assistant
Mrs Sears- Teaches Mondays
Miss Fletcher- Teaches Thursday afternoon
We have an incredible team here in year 6 made up of 4 wonderful teachers and 28 even more wonderful children.
Life in year 6 can be very busy. We work incredibly hard but have lots and lots of fun on our journey throughout the year. We cover lots of fascinating topics across the whole curriculum and have a wonderful teacher, Miss Fletcher, who specialises in PE and drama, teaching our children routines which they love to share with the rest of the school.
- Please have a look through our class timetable to make yourself familiar with our PE days where our year 6 children come to school wearing their PE kit.
- Homework is sent out on a Monday and is collected the following Monday. This includes maths tasks, spellings and grammar homework.
- Year 6 visit the library on alternate Tuesday afternoons and change their independent reading books weekly. Daily reading takes place in class (please refer to class timetable).

Year 6 specifics:
When the children in school get to year 6, they get given a very important (yet a very wonderful) job. The oldest children in school have reception ‘buddies’ which they spend time throughout the year teaching them our school values, helping them to grow and to build up their confidence.
Our residential trip in year 6 takes place around March time. The children stay away from home for two nights/ three days and have an incredible time with their friends taking part in activities such as trapeze, archery and canoeing. This amazing trip builds up our children’s confidence and resilience.
Year 6 also put together a wonderful production at the end of the year where children showcase their drama, singing and dancing talents.
